Snack foods are often so high in calories that they cause a person to eat more calories than their body can burn. This in turn, causes weight gain. To find out how many calories your body NEEDS for growth and maintenance, multiply your weight (in pounds) by 12. If you have a very physically active lifestyle, you should add about 200 calories for every hour of medium-intensity exercise you perform.
The other side of why snack foods are avoided often involves the content of these foods. Refined sugar, caffeine, white flour, food coloring, preservatives etc. can all have negative effects on your body.
it depends what type of snack foods they are
fruit and vegies and non fat yogurt and fat free milk are good
maybe even add a lil dry cereal with the milk or those 100 calorie pack snacks….snacks help ure metabolism stay in check. U just have to know when to eat them and have the control to not over eat.
so eat 5/6 meals a day that add up to ure caloric intake and ull be okay. for example i do this :
6am breakfast
1130am snack
330pm lunch
530pm snack
730pm dinner
930pm snack
if u eat like that ull be full at all times and ure metabolism will be burning calories like crazy . and plus its better then eat 3 big meals a day
