Applesauce with no added sugar is a must. Triscuit crackers are quite good for you, only like three ingredients: whole wheat, oil, and salt. Oil and salt are not bad for you per se, just don’t over do it. In the summer heat, if you are drinking enough water, you need to eat enough salt, too. Baby carrots are fantastic. Cucumber slices in a plastic bag or small tupperware.
For lunch you can have a salad with some chicken or ham, if you make it in the morning it can last until lunch. Just don’t pack mayo, or if you do, then pack it with a few blocks of blue ice to keep it cold enough. A sandwich in parts; pack a couple slices of toast with a few slices of lunch meat in a sandwich bag. In a small tupperware stash some sprouts with a little salad dressing. At lunch slap that all together and you’ve got a good deal. You can even microwave the meat for 30 seconds if you want it hot. They sell a little lunch thing that you can put soup or other hot items into, microwave it for 2 minutes in the morning, and eat it warm at lunch. Just don’t pack it next to something you want to keep cold. You can find it at Target in with the thermoses.
