Pickles and Olives
Two of my favorites, pickles and olives are both very tasty treats that are far less squishable than some of the other options. Just put some into a zip-lock bag, roll up the bag to save space and bring them along!
Grape Tomatoes
Tomatoes can be high in carbs, but grape tomatoes are tiny and they’re full of nutrients. Bring a couple to pop into your mouth as a great treat.
Cheese Cubes
There are SO many types of cheese out there that it’s staggering! Choose your favorites, and cut them up into easy-eat cubes. That way when you’re sitting in the car or on the plane, you can just pop open a zip lock and have a few whenever you feel like having a snack. They’re full of calcium!
Celery Sticks
Yes, the classic! Celery sticks are VERY durable and always tasty. If you have room you can even bring along a small tupperware of hummis to go with it, but they’re tasty just on their own as well.
Bag of Berries
Whether your favorite is raspberry, blueberry, strawberry, blackberry, or a mix, berries are FULL of antioxidants and very healthy for you. Put them in a small tupperware for maximum protection.
Sugar Free Candies and Chocolates
There are TONS of sugar free candies and chocolates on the market now that taste incredibly good. But remember, while they taste fine, they aren’t giving much to your body. When you’re travelling, you need healthy foods in you regularly to keep going. So keep a few candies around for an occasional sweet hit, but stick to the more healthy snacks in general.
Don’t forget to bring a plastic bottle or two of water or sugarless tea. Avoid anything with caffeine in it - you want to stay away from extra jitters or stress! You need to stay hydrated to stay healthy and handle stress. Travel often brings LOTS of germs with it, and the healthier you stay, the less likely you are to fall victim to them.
There are many great collapsable coolers and lunchboxes on the market nowadays - look for one that folds up small when not in use, but holds what you need it to and is easy to carry along. If you pack wisely and keep yourself fed and watered, you’ll find that your trip is easy and fun!
Nuts!
Cashews, peanuts, mixed nuts.
Granola bars…
-Cut up veggies with hummus
-Baked Whole-wheat Pita chips
-Any kind of fruit
-Whole wheat pretzels dipped in mustard
-Low fat yogurt
-Rice cakes
-Popcorn
-Your own mix of things, store bought ones are usually high in calories due to all the dried fruits and nuts, but because it’s only a snack, you dont need those things. Mix up maybe popcorn, broken up melba toast or other crackers, mini rice cakes, a minimal amount of dried fruits and nuts if you want, and maybe some reduced fat wheat thins or cheeze-its.
rice cakes, carrots, broccoli.
grapes
peanuts/raisins/cashews/mm’s
carrots/celery
Try some of the following….individual wrapped string cheese, 100 calorie snack packs (they’re grea!)….juce boxes, apple chips, dried fruits such as apricots or cranberry raisins. Stay away from the salty snacks. Go to your local deli and get individual wraps - slice them up and put in plastic wrap or you can quickly make your own. Put the things that need to be kept cool with a large plastic bag of ice in your cooler. Have a safe trip and have fun!

I never go anywhere without a banana and a bag of grapes (pre-washed and cleaned). It is very healthy and convenient. You don’t have to do anything else to them other than washing and packaging. Whenever I need a snack, I always go for a banana or a small cup of grapes, very filling yet guilt free.
If am really hungry, I’ll grab a soft pretzel. That’s all I ever allow myself. Eating a pretzel while on the road is considered an overindulgence to me. So, I usually stick with fruit.
If you like nuts, you could take those; they’re loaded with omega-3 fats and protein. Or you could make a light sandwich (although somehow I don’t think that would keep well in the heat).
Well, hope that helped. If you’re still undecided, here’s a little advice: Stick with things that require the least work but give you the most rewards!
Lots of liquid without sugar. diet coke for eg. no alcohol pls. this really dehydrates the body. Salt is required by the body at regular interval, so a couple of packets of salty chips and salty peanuts should do. Chocolates have coco which are very healthy. so a few packs of chocks without sugar is necessary.
Frankly speaking, when u r traveling eat what u want. The travel is only going to last a couple of days.
Happy 4th……..
